After a disastrous workshop showing a few years ago I've begun building these alters to Dionysus the night before every public presentation of my work.

The alters are a way to give it up to what will be, a recognition that I'm no longer in control, and a prayer for things to go as well as they can.

Since I often build these on the road, they're usually made of things I can find in my hotel room or airbnb. There's usually some food, some booze, and some light. They stay up till after opening night.

Included here are alters I made for STORM STILL in Austin,  watermelon/moon pie sitch for PATTERN SEEKING ANIMALS (now JEUNE TERRE) in Nashville, and whiskey/travel peanuts for FLOOD CITY previews DC.
